Haiti inconsistencies



In a previous post, I lamented the concept of the 'Anti-Aristide, Anti-Occupation' left. My principal argument was that Aristide was really besides the point. He was not the target of the coup: it was the Haitian people, the democratic process, and the population itself that was. But I've recently thought of something else.

Anthony Fenton, mentioned in a previous entry, has written his first story on Haiti, based on the information he gathered on his trip there. It's just been posted to ZNet, and should be read widely and carefully. Essentially, the entire movement has been driven underground, the Duvalierists have been restored, and the slaughter is ongoing. Please take a look.
